How to Clean Your Stickers: Removing Fingerprints & Smudges

The commitment

My stickers are inspected, polished, and hand packed by me (or Mr. Aphantastic Designs), so if you happen to find any haze from the printing process or finger prints from packing and handling, here's how to get your stickers looking pristine again without damaging them.

What You'll Need

  • A soft cloth (microfiber works great)
  • Dish soap
  • A little water
  • An eraser sponge (last resort for stubborn smudges)

Step 1: Make a Gentle Lather

Add a small amount of dish soap to your soft cloth along with a little water, then work it into a light lather. You don't need much.

Step 2: Lightly Rub the Sticker

Gently rub the soapy cloth over the sticker in small circular motions.

Step 3: Polish It Off

Use a clean, dry section of your soft cloth to buff the sticker and remove any soap residue. Most fingerprints and smudges will disappear at this stage.

Still There? Try an Eraser Sponge

For stubborn smudges that won't budge, reach for an eraser sponge. Apply a bit more dish soap and rub very lightly because eraser sponges are more abrasive than they look, so a gentle touch is key. Follow up with a wipe-down using your soft cloth.

Pro Tips

  • Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first if you're unsure.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals or rough scrubbing pads because they can damage the sticker's surface.

With a little care, your stickers can stay looking sharp for a long time!
